What Is AC Leak Detection & Diagnosis?

AC Leak Detection is a focused 45-minute inspection of your air conditioning system to find out exactly why it isn't cooling. We use a combination of pressure testing, UV-dye tracing, and electronic leak detectors to pinpoint refrigerant leaks at hoses, fittings, the condenser, the evaporator, and compressor seals. We also verify the operation of the compressor, blend doors, and cooling fans so you know whether the issue is a leak or a component failure.

Why It Matters

Recharging an AC system that has a leak is throwing money away -- the refrigerant escapes and you're back to warm air within weeks. Leak detection finds the actual problem so we can quote a permanent repair. It also catches issues that aren't leaks at all, like a failing compressor clutch or a stuck blend door, which a recharge would never solve.

We start by checking system pressures with our manifold gauges to see what story they tell. We add UV dye if needed and use a UV light plus an electronic refrigerant leak detector to scan every fitting, the condenser, the evaporator drain, and the compressor seals. We also verify electrical operation of the compressor clutch, cooling fans, and HVAC controls.
